Jeffree Star Liquid Lipstick Collection & Honest Review

When it comes to liquid lipsticks I'm always on the hunt for new brands, so when there is hype around a company i want to be the first trying their products! Jeffree Star was one of the brands that's recently gained a lot of popularity over the last year, so over time I've ordered a few and thought I'd give my honest opinion on them all!

The formula for me is stop on, they aren't drying but are matte, they are opaque in one swipe and they are really comfy to wear. I've heard a lot of people say that they crumble of their lips but I've never experienced that. On me personally I find that they do last a long time, a lot longer than any other liquid lipsticks i own. In my collection I have quite a shade range and i do feel like the longevity does vary slightly, the darker shades do wear off faster.

In total I have five shades; Celebrity Skin, Androgyny, Unicorn Blood, Gemini and my newest Mannequin! My favourite is 100% Celebrity Skin, its my perfect everyday brown nude lip colour, I find it super easy to wear as it lasts for hours and I constantly find my self reaching for this lip product over anything else in my make up collection.

Androgyny is a lovely plum mauve colour, for me this a little harder to wear and needs a bit more maintenance but still lasts longer than other lip products I own in similar colours! Unicorn Blood is my least favourite out of my collection. Its a beautiful brown toned red that I do really like but because its darker I find its not as easy to apply as mistakes show more. It also runs on your teeth when applying which is never pretty!

Gemini on me is a very warm terra cotta nude/peach shade, which I don't find as easy to wear compared to Celebrity Skin and I was actually a little disappointed when I received it! I had high hopes for the shade but I just find the more you layer this the more peachy it gets and its not a shade I find flattering. Lastly is Mannequin which is newest to my collection, I'd say its about a shade lighter than Celebrity Skin and is meant to be cool toned but I find it to be a warm light nude. The biggest issue I have with Mannequin is that I get a white crusty line on my bottom lip after an hour and if you apply another layer on top of it it just enhances that line.

I'm going to be honest and say that Celebrity Skin is probably the only shade I would actually repurchase if I ever ran out as its the only shade I truly do love and wear a lot. However after seeing recent things floating about on the internet about Jeffree Star as a person and then his customer service as well I'm unsure whether I want to continue supporting his brand. The more of his videos I watch, the more I dislike him as a person. He seems to live for causing drama and "outing" people and other brands when honestly its just plain bullying at times! I will continue to use the products of his I own but unless their is a truly unique shade that he releases I probably won't be buying from the brand again!

If anyone has any liquid lipsticks recommendations I would really appreciate it as I do really want to try as many as I can! x
