Becca Moonstone

When it comes to highlighters I was very late on the hype with them. From when I first started falling in love with make up I was never about the glow, it was all about the matte life for me, so no sheen or shimmer came near my face unless it was on my eyes! Things have changed now and I love highlighters but I do struggle finding shades that suit my pale skin! A lot that are on the market and hyped about I find too dark for my skin or I just don't get on with them.

For a while now I've been eyeing up the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector's but have never committed to buying one because of the price tag! I recently had the chance to swatch them in person and from then on I knew it would be worth investing. Just from swatching in store I could see how well formulated they were, super buttery and very pigmented!

I eventually decided on moonstone after many recommendations on Instagram and it's safe to say I'm in love! Its described as a pale gold and that's exactly how it shows up on me, it's not too warm or too dark like I imagine something like champagne pop would be for me. When applied to my cheeks it just blends in straight away and I never get that harsh line across my cheek I sometimes get with cheaper highlighters.

The main thing for me was how soft of a formula was, it's so easy to pick up product, there's no need for scrapping your brush across the pan to get pigmentation, with one swipe it's there! I could see this being a downside to it, its so easy to accidentally nick the powder and take a chunk out with your nail. I've heard they aren't good for travelling and I can 100% see why, I feel like it wouldn't take too much to break it! But I am normally very careful with my make up so fingers crossed it would never happen!

Moonstone has become one of my top highlighters, replacing Mary Lou by The Balm as my daily go to and I can't see it leaving my cheeks anytime soon! I can see myself investing in some more, Pearl being top of my list!

If anyone has any highlighter favourites or recommendations please feel free to tell me in the comments, I'd love to know! x
