Depotting MAC Blushes

For some time now I've been wanting to create my own blush palette but have been too scared of depotting the blushes I already own. When researching into it I heard from many people it was no where near as easy as depotting eye shadows, with the pans being bigger and the product tends to be thinner so are more prone to cracking or crumbling! After putting it off for ages and storing all my blushes becoming more difficult I decided to just go for it!

Now let me tell you it was probably the most nerve racking experiences and fiddly moments of my life! Once the top pan was popped out of the packaging it was pretty simple step wise to do, it just took a lot of time and patience.

First you need to heat it up on some straighteners until the glue melts on the pan, and then just gently try to ease the pan up. And I mean gently... There was a few moments where I could see a thin layer on some of the edges starting to crack a little but when that happened I just tried easing it up somewhere else on the pan! I'll insert some images of the steps I took so you can see in more detail what I did. Once the pans were popped and had cooled down, as they do get very hot, I just stuck the sticker with the blush name on and then some magnets I had bought off  Ebay ages ago to the bottom of the pan. Then they were ready to be put it my empty MAC palette!

I successfully managed to depot all 6 blushes without any casualties and have pretty much filled my palette already! I decided not to go with an actual insert for them as for one its cheaper as I already had an empty one laying around and secondly you can actually fit one more blush in the palette without an insert! I'm actually really happy with how my palette turned out in the end. Its a lot handier having them all in one place and storage wise is a lot better for me with the space I have to store make up! Also get to do a pretty cheeky Back To MAC with my empty packaging, so hello new lipstick!

I hope this is helpful to anyone else considering making their own palette in the future! x
